I can’t f-ing wait. And here’s a great news story out of the UK!

Profane pupil gains marks for exam expletive
A student who scribbled an expletive on an English language exam paper was awarded 7.5% for accurate spelling & effective communication, according to The Times newspaper.
The pupil, who wrote “fuck off” after being asked in an English exam to “describe the room you are sitting in”, got 2 marks out of 27 & would have got more if he had added some punctuation, chief examiner Peter Buckroyd told The Times.
“It does show some very basic skills we are looking for – like conveying some meaning & some spelling,” said Buckroyd, who works for the Assessment & Qualifications Alliance examinations board. “It shows some nominal skills but no relevance to the task”.
“If it had had an exclamation mark it would have got a little bit more because it would have been showing a little bit of skill”.
According to The Times, to gain minimum marks in English GCSE papers pupils must demonstrate “some simple sequencing of ideas” & an ability to put “some words in appropriate order”.

I swear this isn’t turning into an N*Sync blog. How queer would that be? Speaking of though… here’s the gayest pimps around singing an 80’s classic by Johnny Kemp:

It seemed especially appropriate this week. I’ve been lax on the posting because my last big research paper of the semester was due, & I had to ‘get ‘er done’, so to speak. So work and school have again whooped my ass, & of course the blog has paid the price. Sorry! However it’s the weekend now, so time for some partying, shopping, relaxing, & generally NOT thinking about work!!

Hey everybody. What can bring a thriving blog to a screeching halt?

6 Essays for English Comp 2
+ 2 Projects for Meteorology
+ 1 exam in Meteorology
+ 1 huge conference of over 1,200 attendees to plan
+ 1 big video project for ShantyTown‘s birthday
+ 1 trip to NYC to visit ModFab
+ 1 newfound addiction to ‘Lost’ on DVD (thanks Shannon!)
= ToonsnTunes on a blog hiatus of almost a month.

My bad, kids. I’m trying to limp back into my blog routine, now that work isn’t so crazy busy. And I’ve been going through about 8 years of MP3’s… so expect some new old music features to be figured out. Word. Sorry about the delay!

–My homework being completed & turned in early.

Life has been chaotic like Britney & Kevin lately between work being crazy busy and a new semester starting up, where I’m taking 2 classes instead of just 1. I’m trying to find the groove of balancing work & school and still enjoying life a little. Hopefully it’ll be banged out in a week or so and I’ll feel more in control and less overwhelmed. So that’s kind of why the blog has been a little lax the past week or so. I’m trying to think up somenew things to try out. But today… just a silly little meme thing.

I snagged this one from ModFab, who I love & miss (come down to Bmore homeslice!! I’m too broke to come to NY!). Mr. ModFab made an interesting declaration of how many of us bloggers are not sharing the link love, and I am quite guilty of this. I’ll try & do better. So be sure to check out the MF blog which I linked to above and here. He’s smart and funny. Great combo!!

Sorry about the total drop in posting the past week. I got a throat infection, & it was the end of the semester for the class I was taking. Plus my home PC is a piece of crap (every day I get a little bit closer to saying ‘Fuck It’ & buying the apple laptop I have my eye on) so my schedule has been a little full. But now things should be back on track with me getting everything blogged on time. Ususally when I know I won’t be around the computer much I pre-blog, but my infection caught me by surprise. Either way, sorry, and now you get to see me play catch up!!

(After all, I’m all moved into my house, & school is done until 2008… so basically I’m coasting till Mexico!)
