In the early 90s, before he became an acclaimed, 3-time Grammy-winning pop star, Seal was the hot property of Britain’s house & rave scene working with producer Trevor Horn & scoring hits like “Killer” & “Crazy.” Seal’s fusion of soul, pop, rock, R&B, & dance is once again present on his new Les Rythmes Digitales-produced album, ‘System‘.

With its shimmering melodies, glistening layers of synths & acoustic guitar, & up-tempo electronic beats, System “is a return to my roots,” Seal says. This time Seal turned to dance music go-to producer Stuart Price/Jacques Lu Cont/Les Rythmes Digitales, who co-wrote & produced Madonna’s ‘Confessions on a Dancefloor’, & scores of excellent remixes.

The first single “Amazing” is a lush song layered with multi-tracked vocals and washes of synths. While the original could rock a dance-floor, the remixes by the likes of Kaskade & Thin White Duke take the song to the next level. The album drops November 13th, & I’m pretty excited to hear it.
