Two more for you kids… a day late tho…

Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Catch You – Most of you know of my fascination with music from the UK. It’s simple really, they listen to more things then just rap and crappy rock bands. So this is the new single by one of my most favorite people who is big in the UK, and totally unkown over here. It’s great electro-dance-y fun. If you’ve heard the song “Straight Ahead” by Tube&Berger ft Chrissie Hynde, it reminds me of that song.

Wyclef Jean – Dance Like This – I’ve had this for a WHILE. And figured I’d share it with those who don’t know the dirty little secret of Shakira’s biggest hit of 2006. Shakira’s second English album was dwindling after lead single “Don’t Bother” failed to take the world by storm. So the exec’s did what they do, and rented a rapper, and had Shakira go hip-hop. It worked, and “Hips Don’t Lie”, the “collaboration” between the two, became one of the biggest hits of the year. However it wasn’t a new song. About 2 or 3 years ago, Wyclef contributed “Dance Like This” to the ‘Dirty Dancing:Havana Nights’ soundtrack. Give it a listen, the only difference between the 2 songs is one has Shakira, the other has Claudette Ortiz (of CityHigh). Shame on you Shakira… or is Wyclef to blame… hmmmm!
