Jilly from Philly has released quite a surprising audio sample. Alledgedly this track is the first single from her upcoming “The Real Thing” album, dun in the late summer. Either way, this track is a far cry forom the Jill Scott I’m used to. It’s empowering, like most of her stuff, but the beats are surprisingly Hip-Hop from the the front-runner of the neo-soul revolution. See for yourself!

This shit is dope. Kinda hip-hop. Kinda Jilly-ish but real truthful raw and appealing. This is was we needed from Ms. Jill Scott! Can’t wait for the rest of the new disc!

I am a Jill Scott fan. Golden…that was my 2004 theme (and a lot of other peoples)! With “Hate on Me”…that is my new theme. It explodes when Jill come on and gives a sharp-tounge sound. Her voals are STRONG and confident! Raw! Its a theme for anyone who got “haters” (which we all tend 2 do). “Hate on me”….mmmmhm! Jill you are a true sista. You stay speaking the truth. Evolving and growing, and I am loooovin’ it each step of the way.

YES! YES! YES! I want more! I saw Jill Scott perform a couple months ago and baby let me tell y’all it was stunning and refreshing. The power in that womans voice was bonified knock out. Ranging from Bille Holiday to Etta James to Aretha Franklin (YES! Re-Re herself…the Queen of Soul), she is simply beautiful and brilliant! Jill has a way with words were you’d be like “Damn! Is it like that? lol” She mixes r&b/soul with lots of jazz, gospel, and sounds of hip-hop to poetry which is quite interesting and she makes it work! Hate on me, what a winner! I love this song and I love the power and strength she gices us. Don’t back down, hate on me if ya want to but in the end I’m still going to shine and do me and be wonderful. What a message!? I am telling y’all if you ain’t up on Jill then you are truely missing magic unfold. Her craft is amazing! She captures you with every breath. Her words…mmmhm! Her style, he reasy, and gidt of wording! i just loved it! I love the song so much and it is truely a magical event to experienc ewhat is Jill Scott. Don’t sleep on it cuz she is the truth.
